About Our Committee

Cattle Baron's Event Chair / Co-Chairs

The Cattle Baron’s Event chair(s) promotes the American Cancer Society mission throughout the San Antonio, Texas area by leading the premier Cattle Baron’s Gala event. Overseeing the event from start to finish. Recruit, motivate, and lead a committee of volunteers. Support the underwriting goal of the event, attend pre-events, solicit auction support, honorary chair candidates, select restricted gift focus, recruit next year’s chair successor, and gives additional support as needed.

Cattle Baron's Chair Elect

Learns how to lead event and supports the current event chair as they will move into the Cattle Baron’s event chair position next year. Works with event chair(s) in coordinating the planning, execution and evaluation of a first-class event.

Cattle Baron’s Honorary

The Cattle Baron’s Honorary committee will collaborate with the event chair(s) to ensure the event’s success by helping to engage key community members to raise mission support and bring influential social and professional contacts to the event.

Cattle Baron’s Past Chair

The Past Chairman Committee is comprised of former San Antonio Cattle Baron’s leaders who bring years of dedication and experience to the event.

Baron's Award Committee

Leads and support the nomination process and selection process of the Baron’s Award process. Leads and organizes a group of prominent level community members from both the medical and business sector.

Decorations Committee

Decorations committee will be responsible for décor and centerpieces for the Cattle Baron’s Gala.

Entertainment Committee

Assist in selection and contract negotiations for pre-and post-entertainment. Work with logistics committee to determine staging/lighting needs and requirements at venue site for the entertainment. Is the official coordinator and communicator with all entertainment crews during the event. Coordinate fulfillment of rider requirements including hotels, food and riders for the band pre, during, and post event.

Favor Bag Committee

Helps with assembly of the guests favor bags. 

Food and Beverage Chair

Assists American Cancer Society to ensure that adult spirits are some of the finest available. Engages craft beers/distilleries/liquor needs are meet for the event and that we are compliant with TABC.

Hospitality Committee

The Hospitality Committee extends a warm welcome to guests as they enter and move about the event. It is the goal of the Hospitality Committee to ensure that all guests enjoy their event experience. This is accomplished by being highly visible, extremely helpful and very approachable. The committee supports the efforts of day of event entry and exit points, The Hospitality Committee embodies the true spirit of the San Antonio Cattle Baron’s Gala by delivering extraordinary service with a smile.

Auction Committee

The Auction Committee solicits in-kind contributions for the auction part of the event and supports the logistics of the auction pre, during, and post event. Support the day of event auction logistics. Solicits for both the Live and Silent Auction procurement. The live auction is reserved for premium items. This is the fundraising highlight of the night, and we typically offer 8 to 10 big-ticket live auction items and 115 - 135 silent auction items.

Logistics Committee

The Logistics committee is made up of dedicated, hard-working volunteers that work before, during and after the Cattle Baron’s Gala. The primary responsibilities of the committee include setting up, maintaining and breaking down the event location, and the various facades, tent wraps and signs around the venue. They acquire the equipment needed by all committees for the setup and maintenance of their various event stations, acquire and distribute supplies and materials for committees, perform minor construction for various projects throughout the year, and assist other committees as needed.

Registration / Check Out

A dedicated group of volunteers to run the registration/check out area at the Cattle Baron’s Gala event.

Restricted Major Gifts Chair

Recruit a strong committee that has the ability to use their influence in the community and will leverage their contacts to ask for mission dollars. The success of this committee is based off from a successful Fund-a-Needs, also known as cash appeals or paddle raises, are all about presentation. Helps to facilitate the introductory speech/video,

Revenue Enhancer(s)

Works with the event committee to choose the most effective methods of raising additional funds for the mission during the event through Revenue Enhancers Games. Assist in planning, coordinating and implementing creative, innovative revenue enhancers game(s). This committee solicits in-kind contributions for the auction/game part of the event. This committee often sells tickets for the raffle(s) held during the event.

Rolex Raffle Committee

The Raffle committee sells tickets (pre & at event) for the annual raffle held during the Cattle Baron’s Gala event.

Table/Sponsorship

Supports the underwriting committee with limited event table sales.

Tributes Chair

Work with the underwriting committee to solicit tribute support and ensures the tribute display supports the theme of the event while being unique and enticing to support paying tribute to cancer survivors and/or memorial.

Volunteer Coordinator Chair

Work with committees to determine their needs before, during and after the Cattle Baron’s Gala event are meet. Develop a master schedule and timeline for volunteer needs. Recruits and manages qualified volunteers to match the schedule of needs.

Underwriting Committee

The Underwriting committee members have the ability to use their influence in the community and has the ability to make the ask and solicits corporate sponsors to help underwrite the event and the financially support the American Cancer Society mission.

Wrangler Day & Children's Art (pre event)

Wrangler Day is a pre-event to the Cattle Baron’s Gala. This committee produces an invitation only event is for children surviving cancer and their families to enjoy a day at the ranch. It’s is one of most touching children events!

 Ranch Chic Fashion Show (pre event)

The Ranch Chic Fashion Show is a pre-event to the Cattle Baron’s Gala. This committee produces one of the major pre-fundraising events for the mission. Annual Ranch Chic Fashion Show is an exciting fashion show featuring cancer survivor models and showcasing the latest western attire as inspiration for what to wear to the premier Cattle Baron’s Gala.

 

Ranch Chic Fashion Show Committee

The Annual Ranch Chic Fashion Show is an exciting fashion show featuring cancer survivor models and showcasing the latest western attire as inspiration for what to wear to the premier Cattle Baron’s Gala benefiting the American Cancer Society.

Event Chair

The Ranch Chic Fashion Show Chair(s) promotes the American Cancer Society mission throughout the San Antonio, Texas area by leading the premier pre-event to the Cattle Baron’s Gala. Overseeing the fashion show event from start to finish. Recruit, motivate, and lead a committee of volunteers. Show Production Manager

The Show Production manager creates and designs the logistics for the models show. As the manager of a fashion show, they oversee every aspect of the event, from its conception to the final presentation. They assume the role of event planner, overseeing model fittings and acting as liaison between hair stylists and makeup professionals to convey the American Cancer Society mission. They also handle the advance work required to book, schedule and arrange runway show.

Graphic Design

The Graphic Design plays a key role in shaping the visual image to attract supporters to the mission of the American Cancer Society. They are the behind the scenes talent to all print, web, and social media creativity.

The model committee oversees survivor models participation in the fashion show. The committee works with Ranch Chic Chair and the American Cancer Society to contact model participants organizing model fittings, photography, bios, release forms, and other essential communication as needed. The model committee assists Show Production Manager to ensure that model’s needs are meet for event day.

Decorations

Decorations committee is responsible for décor and centerpieces for the Ranch Chic Fashion Show.
